AWARD WINNING ARTIST
MY STORY
Born in Montreal, singer, songwriter, and accomplished guitarist, he is fluent in English, French and German. A natural performer, he is at ease on stage, where both his singing abilities and his guitar playing will surely capture your attention.
From the inception of his musical career in 1976, he was part of the following bands: Festival of Friends, Monty, Beau Flash, Spectacle and Boys, and has toured most major North American cities – Montreal (Club Soda, The Spectrum, Metropolis), Quebec City (Le Dagobert, Festival D’ete), Toronto, Boston, Chicago, Columbus etc.
In 1986 he recorded his first solo LP entitled “Le meilleur est a venir” for the ISBA record label, produced by Montreal rock legends Walter Rossi and Garry Moffat (April Wine).
Four singles were released from this album and charted in the top ten across Quebec and French Canada.
He received top honors at the 1986 Talcan Awards for best Canadian vocalist and best Canadian composer, and was nominated for best new artist at the 1986 Gala de L’ADISQ.
Since that time, he has been busy in the recording studio and on television, working as a musician, singer, and producer on many projects, with such artists as France D’Amour, Garou, Mitsou, Martine St-Claire, Walter Rossi, Jeff Nystrom, Maude Grenier, Judy Ann, Louise Sauve, Collage.
In December 2007 he received the Award of Honour from Paramount Group in Nashville for Excellence in Lyrics and Songwriting for his original composition entitled “I’m Trying To Find My Way Back To Christmas”.
In July 2008 his original song “A Little Piece Of Your Heart” was included in a Limited Edition Cd produced by Paramount Group entitled “Catch A Rising Star” which was comprised of the best demos sent in by songwriter’s across North America as judged by a panel of industry experts.
His latest original release is entitled “24 Hours At The Speed Of Life” which includes the Indie Charts top single “The new Superman” and his internationally acclaimed tribute to Canadian forces serving in Afghanistan “L.A to Venus”. Robert Joins forces in 2015 with Danny Kerr to form R&D, performing acoustic versions of classic hits and teaming up for an all star tribute to Canadian music called “Made in Canada”. In 2019 he joins iconic Canadian classic rock band FIST for their new release “Alive”.
